I've been finding myself with my guitar and notebook alot more these days than the past, and its something that I've really enjoyed. Songwriting for me comes in spirts, really. It's really hard to explain. Like, I can write a song in fifteen minutes, put it away for a day and come back and work on it again. I've developed a growing relationship with a guy named Kaleb here at MC. Typically I write alone, very rarely do I write with other people present, because its hard sitting down and coming up with a concept of what we want the song to be about, and what we want the song to say. But we have gotten together we've just had a blast and the writing is coming naturally. This is a song called Concrete. Concrete Theres a crack in the concrete That proves to me, the earths been shifting And I asked aloud "where's it headed now?" Kaleb and I then started talking And said to me "that its kind of like our lives"
(bridge) "Full of cracks from where we shifted, With some going right down to our heart" Then something deep inside of me was shifted I sat in the silence, it was all that I could do
(chorus) I need to bring these peices back together Cause I feel like its about to fall apart I need to bring this too the paper from the pen And bring a shift to my life again Looking back it all seems like a daydream But the concretes still beneath my feet Filled with cracks all along the walkway Then I had the thought "that its kind of like our lives" (bridge) "Full of cracks from where we've shifted, With some going right down to our heart" Then something deep inside of me was shifted I sat in silence, it was all that I could do
(chorus) I need to bring these peices back together Cause I feel like its about to fall apart I need to bring this too the paper from the pen And bring a shift to my life again. Comments? Leave them! (please?)
